Biobot Labs

Team Name: Biobot Labs

IDEAS Project Pitch: The answers to our biggest urban health problems are right under our feet. Our sewers carry information on human health. Biobot Labs technology turns this into valuable knowledge.

Biobot Labs was founded by a team of scientists and designers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, growing out of a research collaboration between the departments of biological engineering and urban studies and planning. While at MIT, the work received extensive media coverage for its novel approach to epidemiology and the future of cities.

Today we are the first company to extract valuable data from urban waterways using our patent-pending pipeline of robotics and analytics, combined with ad-hoc biochemical assays to map bacteria, viruses, and chemicals of interest.

Biobot Labs is a member at the MIT Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship, MIT Sandbox, and is participating in the MIT DesignX Accelerator.
